Help the beekeeper in Barzlin, then speak to the Lutki elder about the missing third hive. You can leave it with the Lutki, return it, or keep it, with different consequences.
Harvest the first two hives. The wiki's Forest Spirit guide says to smoke each hive with a pine branch until its three indicators fill, then collect the honey. The beekeeper explains that a third hive is missing. This harvesting detail is wiki single-source guidance.
Find the missing hive. The Lutki camp has the third hive, and the elder knows it belongs to the beekeeper. This relationship is cross-checked in the wiki and the independent player discussion. It is a quest choice, not a hunt for three ordinary wild honeycombs.
Choose the outcome (wiki single source). Let the Lutki keep it for furniture and a split-rock offering lead; return it to the beekeeper for a beeswax chandelier. Keeping it yourself gives a decorative hive but leaves the quest unfinished. It does not produce honey. Exact rewards are not independently corroborated.
No elder dialogue? A Steam thread reports freeing all three Lutki trapped in village woodpiles, then saving and reopening the game, before new elder dialogue appears. Several players report success, including an April 2026 reply; another reports that restarting alone did not finish the quest. Treat this as a community single-thread workaround, not a guaranteed solution.
Bug status. A developer acknowledged the issue on September 17, 2024. Later reports persist in that same thread, but they do not prove it affects every 1.0 save. No checked notice specifically establishes a 1.0 fix. Use the official support form if the dialogue remains unavailable.
