REKA moths and the closed moth chest
Look around Lutki settlements for collectible moths and use the lantern to spot nearby objects. Do not assume the moth-covered chest has an opening puzzle: early-access players report it stays closed.
Where to look. Independently authored 2024 and 2025 community threads both report moths near Lutki settlements. The older thread also mentions pine trees; the newer one adds a roof corner and lantern-assisted searching. Those extra locations are single-thread reports, not guaranteed spawns or fixed coordinates.
How collection is reported. Players describe interacting with a found moth and seeing their insect collection/poster update. The newer discussion warns the on-screen collection message can disappear quickly. There is no publicly corroborated universal catch key, net requirement or full collection count here.
Why the chest will not open. In the September 2024 thread, players identify the chest at a ruined house near an insect frame. One reports collecting all the moths without unlocking anything; others think the chest is a display stand. That is single-thread early-access evidence, not a developer statement that every similar 1.0 chest is permanently decorative. No confirmed opening sequence was found.
Night moths versus collectible insects. The 1.0 announcement describes moths circling lights at night; it does not say every such effect is collectible. Older players also found collectible moths in daylight. The beta announcement separately describes insects collected on a new display table. Keep these mechanisms distinct rather than inferring that night, a potion or the old frame unlocks every insect.
Coverage limit. This is a finding-and-interaction guide based on public reports, not an all-moth map. Exact counts, fixed spawn coordinates and a 1.0 chest reward are not established.

Questions
Are REKA moths only out at night?
No such rule is established for collectibles: players report daylight finds. The 1.0 announcement specifically describes ambient moths flying around lights at night.
How do I open the moth chest?
No confirmed method was found. Early-access players report that it stayed closed even after collection; this is single-thread evidence, not a verified 1.0 rule.
Where should I look first?
Lutki settlements appear in two independent player threads. Pine trees and roof corners are additional single-thread reports.
