REKA beginner guide: your first map
Follow the road to Kopnik, meet the witch, and take her recipe book before trying to gather everything. The opening ritual unlocks your walking house and building tutorial.
1. Reach the witch. Help the merchant with his lost wheel, then ask around Kopnik for the witch in the woods. Follow the new house marker. At her gate, collect the recipe book from the bench: it unlocks the journal and crow gathering tool. The opening route is cross-checked against the community wiki and Bonus Action's October 2026 walkthrough.
2. Gather for Trial of the Chicken. Collect 10 edible mushrooms and 6 honeycombs; use crows for items above ground. Follow the talisman marker to the Lutki and free the one trapped under debris. Bring raspberries for the other Lutki. The talisman lets you return to the witch. These requirements agree in the two opening guides.
3. Build your home through the ritual. Bring the marked pine branch and a hen, then follow the witch to the ruined oven. Use the hen, egg, offerings and ember as the quest prompts direct. Once the hut rises, finish its building tutorial before expecting a full set of construction tools.
4. Cook before travelling. A fueled oven and three compatible ingredients make a meal. Try bread with three flour, or porridge with three grain. Take cooked food for travel and villager requests. Read the exact sweet/savory request rather than treating every meal as interchangeable.
5. Finish Kopnik before leaving. The wiki and the updated chapter-one guide both warn that you cannot return to the starting map. Finish side jobs you care about first. This is more important than rushing every decorative purchase.
Version note. REKA is a third-person, combat-free witch adventure, not a survival-combat game. The publisher's old FAQ says demo saves do not transfer, but that wording predates the September 2026 demo; it is not a newly confirmed policy for that build.

Why can I not gather items at the start?
Reach the witch and take the recipe book on the bench to unlock the journal and crow tool. The opening guides agree on this unlock.
Can I return to the first map?
The wiki and the October 2026 chapter-one guide both say no. Finish Kopnik tasks before departing.
Does the 2026 demo save transfer?
The publisher FAQ says no transfer, but its wording is from early access. A new policy specific to the September 2026 demo was not found.
